With the ongoing uncertainty around travelling abroad, you might want to consider a short break here in Spain (locally and within a few hours’ drive). You won’t have to spend a fortune either if you look at Rural Andalucia.

For those who would rather just come and put their feet up, we can provide a good value breakfast basket and recommend many good restaurants that cater for all tastes at great prices.
We have two restaurants right on the lake, both with spectacular views Restaurante El Nautico and Restaurante Los Baños. During the week they offer a menu del dia for as little at 10 €. Eating from their main menu is not expensive either, comments we’ve recently received:
“we had drinks with FREE tapa, then 3 courses with a bottle of wine for two people, main dishes, sole and monkfish, both the size of the plate!, for less than 50 €, we couldn’t believe the bill and it was delicious”
“the place was packed with locals, we ordered drinks that came with FREE tapa, then a entrecote steak and pork loin that were bigger than the plates, a glass of wine each and this was 30 €, amazing value”
In our village of Zujar, guests can visit our favourite eating and drinking place, Gastrobar La Almazara. We always recommend their meat dishes which are superb and great value for money and the black garlic cod dish is great too. They always serve the best tapas, which are of course FREE with every cold drink. Couple of guests comments:

Pizza Pomys
“we just went for pizza and were surprised when we ordered drinks and got free tapa, it was lovely. Then we ordered 2 pizzas and more drinks and the bill came to 23 €. We were really shocked”

El Boliche del Nene
Brand new bar in Plaza Mayor, lovely atmosphere, great beer with free tapa and a fabulous menu offering meat and fish dishes. Try the beef burger for 6.50 €. We're hoping that they can extend their seating area into the recently refurbished square, there should be plenty of events held in the square during the summer.
Cost effective activities near us include water sports on the lake and horse riding near Baza, besides the beautiful nature spots we recommend which are of course free of charge.

(Sometimes in the not so busy periods they offer 2 hours for the price of 1, bargain!!)
Horse riding
The lovely folk Yeguada Y Granja Escuels stables offer horse riding experiences for all ages and abilities. Recently a young couple staying with us had a relaxed full moon night ride at 10pm for an hour at 15 € each along the Baza basin…they absolutely loved it!
Massage at Casa Bella Teepees with Josie
Josie will come and give you a 1 hour relaxation massage for 35 euros per person near your teepee or under our big tree. Many customers comment it’s the best massage they’ve ever had. Josie has an interesting story to tell which makes it all the more enjoyable.
Thermal baths (at the Restaurante Los Baños)
The famous “Baños de Zujar” a thermal bathing pool overlooking Lake Negratin which dates back to pre-Roman times. For a small fee of 2.50 € per person all ages can enjoy a relaxing swim or soak in warm waters, rich in minerals with health benefits for the skin, heart and overall well-being.
