A guest review written for a magazine - "Visiting Zújar with Chief Many Moons"

Featured in the Life in Spain article of Costa Calida Chronicle, written by Liz Edmiston from Murcia Solutions www.murciasolutions.com

Like many people, travel plans we made prior to quarantine got cancelled and changed. Early in the year, David and I had booked to go and stay in Casa Bella Teepees, having seen the stunning pictures on Facebook of the enormous Teepees close to Lake Negratin. Our booking was for May, but as with many things, Covid-19 forced us to change our plans and we watched all the daily updates until things become clear.

Finally, in June we got our date confirmed and could finally leave Murcia province. It is only about a 2 hour drive to the complex and we had the whole place to ourselves on the first night; a huge teepee, private bathroom and kitchen area and above ground pool, plus an outdoors gas kitchen with hob and BBQ and dining area. Perfect! I doubt there was a safer way of taking a break in the whole of Spain!!

The views were spectacular and all Teepees have names such as Many Lakes, Many Olives, Many Mountains, so it wasn’t long before ‘Chief David’ was making our Indian names, especially after the first few beers. 'Squaw Green Eyes’ (give him a break, it was all he could manage in English!!) relaxed in the dining area to make plans for our trip whilst ‘Chief Many Moons’ cooked supper.

We visited the stunning white village of Castril, walked along the lovely cool riverside walk, chilled our beer in the freezing river and had lunch at a woodland campsite on the way back. Then decided to spend 90 minutes kayaking on the lake to burn off our lunch, with yours truly muttering that there were easier ways to bump off your beloved than paddling against the current in 38 degrees heat!

A second night of relaxing and outdoor cooking. On our final morning we drove back via Baza, walking around the town and visiting the museum and baths before stopping for lunch at a cave hotel.

All in all it was a great trip; fantastic location, comfy beds and deluxe Teepees and if you love the outdoors, then the chance to spend a night under the stars in comfort – Glamping at its best.

You will find Casa Bella Teepees on the internet or via Facebook and the service and communication from owner Alex was second-to-none with detailed info on what to do and where to eat in the area.

Thank you for the article Liz, we hope to see you again soon - Alex & Gino
