Zújar - Traditional Spanish Village - Quality food, great value, here we eat, drink and enjoy!

Updated: Jan 31

Casa Bella Teepees is situated a mere 3km from the village of Zújar, at the very heart of the Granada Geopark.

Zújar is, in every way, a traditional Spanish village with a growing population, surrounded by olive trees and backed by the imposing Cerro Jabalcon, seen from every corner of the village in all it’s majesty.

Zújar has all we need for daily living and enjoyment, boasting a huge amount of bars and restaurants….let’s take a look at some numbers!

At last count, we have 15 establishments to eat and drink in Zújar….for a population of 2,506 people! All of these offer fine fare at incredibly affordable prices, not forgetting the wonderful tradition of free tapa with every drink, there is something for everyone...

Some firm favourites of ours and our guests include, Restaurante Hactara at the top of the village by our new swimming pool complex, Gastrobar la Almazara on Parque de la Almazara with an eclectic choice of delicious dishes, fine wine and tapas, Pizzeria Jabalcon for some quality hand-made pizza and excellent traditional tapa and the wonderful El Boliche del Nene in Plaza Major, the coolest establishment and most enviable position by the main church with dishes and tapa to blow you away! Bar café EL Morro deserve a mention for its tostada con tomate y jamon serrano which is the best in all Andalucía!

Would you believe it, we have our own disco bar - Bar Millennium, a place to dance the night away to DJ's and live music on various nights throughout the summer, try a gin and tonic the size of a fish bowl!

Add to this, 3 wood fired panaderías, 4 mini-supermercados, a farmacia, a barber (peluquería), 2 quality carnicerías, the best fruit and veg from fruteria Cristofer, 2 banks and a partridge in a pear tree...

Take a stroll through Zújar into a labyrinth of tiny cobblestone streets and some ancient housing, watch out for the bread van and see the buckets dropped from 3rd floor windows to collect the daily pan…tradition is everywhere, you just have to seek it out.
